When developing
A1 Sitemap Generator program,
we did not want to create a sitemapper tool
that had a limited capacity and low amount of functionality.
On the contrary, we wanted to create the
best tool in existence.
This in particular meant making an online sitemap generator tool was not an option.
From a technology point of view, this was the correct decision as most competing
online sitemapper tools are inferior when it comes to:
- Overall amount of options. These are usually reduced to bare minimum.
- Website crawling speed. Usually slow and scales poorly for large websites.
- Capacity limits. Most online sitemap tools only allow to scan a low amount of pages.
- Optional fields in XML sitemaps protocol. Most often ignored or default values are used.
Above issues are often caused by the fact online sitemap services
usually have to conserve server memory, CPU and bandwidth usage very agressively,
one reason being many simultaneous users.
