Move Ajour and Locate Ajour Data File
How to locate the data file Ajour uses for calendar, diary, contact list, todo items etc.
- Download Ajour version 5.6.4 and install it on your new computer.
For more information about installation, see the Ajour help page covering
how to install.
- On your old computer, log in using your Windows user account.
Then launch Ajour and open
the Help | About information window. It shows all paths used by Ajour.
Make a copy of the folders where data files are stored.
- After this, follow the same procedure to see the location of data files in your new installation.
Close and exit all instances of Ajour completely and then move your data files to the new location.
-
Ajour.dat contains most of the setup configuration and all appointments, events, notes etc.
This file is often located in the same directory as the rest of the Ajour package/installation;
However, depending on the configuration during installation, it may be located elsewhere.
-
You can also open options.ini (located in the same folder as Ajour) and view option "DataAccess";
valid values are "user"
(in most cases: C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Documents\Micro-Sys\Ajour\)
and "all" (same directory as Ajour).
-
If you on newer Windows versions install Ajour into
C:\Program Files you can usually not use the app storage mode.
If you do so, Windows VirtualStore will redirect all file access outside standard user
directories to a directory similar to this: %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\Program Files\%software%.
Note: You should not associate Ajour to
.dat files and start
Ajour by double-clicking. Ajour will
always open the
.dat
located in the designated data path.
